Hopkins Moto Time Attack Pro Club 600 Champion 2018

Sittingbourne’s Luke Hopkins took the title in the Club Pro Moto Time Attack event that took place at Cadwell Park recently as well as setting a new lap record.
With only basic modifications allowed to the motorcycles it meant the machines would be close and rider ability would be at the fore.
The competition involved ten sessions over the weekend. Of those the riders scored points in five towards a grand total. The last session was worth double points. In the first session Luke Hopkins finished third overall and first in the 600 class with a lap time of 1:35.197. The fastest riders scored 25 points in their class.
On the second day Hopkins lapped a 1:33.854 which was a new lap record in the competition.
Hopkins won the Pro Club 600 title plus an additional trophy for his record beating lap time.
It was just reward for the 16-year-old who recently had to rebuild his Yamaha R6 after it was almost destroyed in a crash at Snetterton when he hit a fallen bike in the track.
Luke Hopkins said,” I’m delighted to have won these trophies in what was a fantastic competition. Thanks to Moto Time Attack for putting together such a great event. Now I’m looking forward to the next round of the National Superstock 600 race at Brands Hatch.”
